4-Wheelers

Spencer's brother, Nate, rented 4-wheelers over the weekend. I invited my sister, Stephanie and her husband, Josh. We went to this place up behind Nate's house in Eagle Mountain. All together it was Nate's family, Haylee, Ashton and Hannah. Spencer, me and Ty and Stephanie and Josh. It was so much fun. At first I was a little timid but by the end of the day I was going up and down big hills and I even caught air one time. Oh, and I tried Haylee's dirt bike! I was going crazy.

New Things

Well we made it to Utah. Ty was very good on the airplane and slept in my arms for about 2 1/2 hours. Spencer was beat from driving cross country but made it safe and sound. I can't believe how much Provo/Orem has changed over the last 1 1/2 years. There has been a TON of development and there is construction everywhere, of course. We kind of miss our little town, Lexington. It has been so much fun to see our families. This is what we have been up to so far.

1. Spencer has already started his internship and has met with a lot of clients. He seems to like it so far.
2. Spencer got his grades for last semester and he got the best grades he has ever gotten in law school, I'm so proud of him.
3. Ty's first tooth came in on Monday. My little boy is growing up so fast.
4. Ty started rice cereal this week and he loves it.
5. Ty also sits up in a high chair and loves being able to sit up and be apart of all the action.

I Finished It

I finished making Ty's quilt. I LOVE IT! This has been my favorite sewing project I have done. I think it turned out so cute.

I handmade the binding and I think it turned out so good, look how great my corners look!

Congratulations everyone!

New Favorite Thing

So I just got tuned in to a new website called http://www.hulu.com/. Some of you might already know about this but I just found out about and I LOVE IT! This website has TV shows you can watch for free and movies too. 21 pages of TV shows to watch...new episodes as well. They have old shows and new shows, like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Alfred Hitchcock, Project Runway, Top Chef, Hells Kitchen, Prison Break, The Office.....tons of shows!!! It is so cool. It almost eliminates the need to pay for cable. You have GOT to check it out.

Like Father Like Son

Spencer was watching Ty so I could get some stuff done around the house and this is what I saw when I came downstairs. Both of my boys watching a little ESPN! It was so cute. Even their hands are the same, I was totally laughing.

A Baby Shower

I threw a baby shower for my friend Anne. This is her first baby and she is about 30 weeks pregnant. She is so darn cute and has the littlest tummy. A lot of people came and it was so much fun.

Tummy Time

Ty has always been really good at holding his head up. From the moment he was born all the nurses would comment on how strong his neck was. He loves tummy time...most of the time anyway and is getting stronger and stronger!

Ty is 2 months old in this picture!

Quilt Squares

I finished all my quilt squares. It was pretty fast and not that hard. I love the colors. Now, my next step is to arrange all the squares into the zigzag pattern then sew together.

More Fabric

I found this awesome fabric store up the road from us...well about 35 minutes up the road. It is called the Old Trinity Schoolhouse Quilt Shop. Anyway, I was like a kid in a candy store. I wanted to buy some of everything. I found some great green and blue fabric for Ty's quilt. I have to admit that it was hard to pull myself away from all the adorable pinks, flowery and girly fabric. Then, of course, my mind starts spinning and I am thinking of about 10 projects I can do...something for the Christmas...something for Easter...something for my mom, my sisters...the list just got bigger and bigger so I had to get out of there fast. One project at a time!! Anyway, here is the new fabric for Ty's quilt.

My First Quilt

I thought I would try my hand at quilting. I went shopping and bought a rotary mat, rotary cutter, rulers and fabric. I have never used a rotay cutter and mat before so I read a bunch of tutorials. I'm pretty much teaching myself how to do this. The tutorials I have been reading are easy to follow and understand so I think I can actually pull this off...we'll see! I do have to add, that purlsoho.com was out of the cute animal fabric so I went looking on the internet for it. It was sold out everywhere so I turned to Ebay of course and low-and-behold I found some! I was so happy! I LOVE EBAY!

Anyway, this is what the quilt is supposed to look like when I am done except that I am going to use blue and green instead of blue and orange. I got the pattern and idea from this great website that my sister told me about. It is http://www.purlbee.com/. I also love the fabric they sell at www.purlsoho.com.

Ty's First Babysitter

My really good friend, Amber, watched Ty for a couple of hours last week. I have to admit that I was a crazy first-time mom and typed out "instructions" (I laugh now thinking about it) to give to Amber. It consisted of his feeding schedule, nap routine, likes, dislikes....you name it! Poor Amber had no idea what she was getting herself into. She was a good sport and let me read her the entire list (yes, I read it out loud to her...I'm such a nerd)! Anyway, everything went smoothly and Ty actually had a good nap at her house. He is such a good baby! Amber was a wonderful babysitter and Ty loved playing with her little girl, Maya. Thanks Amber!

Cutie Pie!

Ty loves to sit up and see what's going on around him.
