Tummy Time

Ty has always been really good at holding his head up. From the moment he was born all the nurses would comment on how strong his neck was. He loves tummy time...most of the time anyway and is getting stronger and stronger!

Ty is 2 months old in this picture!

Quilt Squares

I finished all my quilt squares. It was pretty fast and not that hard. I love the colors. Now, my next step is to arrange all the squares into the zigzag pattern then sew together.

More Fabric

I found this awesome fabric store up the road from us...well about 35 minutes up the road. It is called the Old Trinity Schoolhouse Quilt Shop. Anyway, I was like a kid in a candy store. I wanted to buy some of everything. I found some great green and blue fabric for Ty's quilt. I have to admit that it was hard to pull myself away from all the adorable pinks, flowery and girly fabric. Then, of course, my mind starts spinning and I am thinking of about 10 projects I can do...something for the Christmas...something for Easter...something for my mom, my sisters...the list just got bigger and bigger so I had to get out of there fast. One project at a time!! Anyway, here is the new fabric for Ty's quilt.

My First Quilt

I thought I would try my hand at quilting. I went shopping and bought a rotary mat, rotary cutter, rulers and fabric. I have never used a rotay cutter and mat before so I read a bunch of tutorials. I'm pretty much teaching myself how to do this. The tutorials I have been reading are easy to follow and understand so I think I can actually pull this off...we'll see! I do have to add, that purlsoho.com was out of the cute animal fabric so I went looking on the internet for it. It was sold out everywhere so I turned to Ebay of course and low-and-behold I found some! I was so happy! I LOVE EBAY!

Anyway, this is what the quilt is supposed to look like when I am done except that I am going to use blue and green instead of blue and orange. I got the pattern and idea from this great website that my sister told me about. It is http://www.purlbee.com/. I also love the fabric they sell at www.purlsoho.com.

Ty's First Babysitter

My really good friend, Amber, watched Ty for a couple of hours last week. I have to admit that I was a crazy first-time mom and typed out "instructions" (I laugh now thinking about it) to give to Amber. It consisted of his feeding schedule, nap routine, likes, dislikes....you name it! Poor Amber had no idea what she was getting herself into. She was a good sport and let me read her the entire list (yes, I read it out loud to her...I'm such a nerd)! Anyway, everything went smoothly and Ty actually had a good nap at her house. He is such a good baby! Amber was a wonderful babysitter and Ty loved playing with her little girl, Maya. Thanks Amber!
