Weekend Fun

Ty is now officially 18 months old! I can't believe it. He is growing up so fast. He is 28.5lbs and 35 inches tall. That is about the 95-100% for height and 75% weight. A REALLY big boy!

Ty is really getting into the whole coloring/drawing thing. He loves it and asks to do it all day long. Here are a few pics of that.

Today we decided to go to Cave Mountain Lake. It was so much fun. I wasn't sure how Ty would react to the water but he absolutely loved it. He was maybe getting a little too brave for me. I wish I would have taken more pictures but I was having too much fun playing with Ty and Spencer. It was a really fun time and a much needed break.

Kate's Quilt

I finished Kate's quilt last night. It's all washed and dried ready to go. I love it. I picked a simple design so I could finish it fast. I quilted it in straight lines and appliqued a little flower on the back. I can't wait to wrap her up in it. For those of you who don't know, Kate is the name of our baby girl due on July 21st.As a side note. I tried a new white cotton quilting fabric and I absolutely love it and will contine to use it for the rest of my projects. It is called cotton sateen from JoAnn Fabric. It is a bright white and super soft and easy to work with. You can order it online (that is what I did) and if you sign up for their emails you get great online coupons like 40%-50% off a single item. They also sell an egyptian cotton but I haven't tried that yet.

Baby Girl Quilt

I made another baby quilt. This one has got to be my favorite so far. I tried a few new things. First, I have never used color fabric for the background, I used grey. Second, I tried a new quilting technique and I did loops all over the quilt. I love, love, love how they turned out, it was really easy but time consuming. Third, I usually hand stitch the binding but because of time and lack of energy I used my machine and it was so fast and I think it turned out great. This one is for my sister-in-law Stephanie and her baby girl, due in October. Congrats Stephanie, hope you like it!
